Luca Serafini’s Alfa Romeo Montreal Vision GT Concept is what Supercars Should be Like
Alfa Romeo Montreal Vision GT Concept Has Our Jaws On The Floor
This is the Alfa Romeo Montreal Vision GT, designed as a homage to the original Montreal from the 1970s. Penning a car that pays respect to a vehicle from so long ago and making it looking modern is no easy feat, but Luca Serafini has managed to pull it off.
To describe the Montreal Vision GT as ‘radical’ would be an understatement. The front features a host of chrome accents where you’d typically find the headlights in order to give the futuristic vehicle an aggressive face. Alfa Romeo’s traditional triangular grille is of course featured, as is a large NACA duct on the hood just like the original Montreal.
Look beyond the eye-catching front fascia and it’s impossible not to notice that the concept is much longer and streamlined than the original. At the sides there are huge wheels with an intricate chrome design, as well as four small horizontal vents directly behind the doors as a tribute to the six vents used by the original Montreal and positioned in the same area.
Describing his creation on Behance, Serafini reveals that his father once owned a Montreal.
“Back in 1986 my father bought a shiny orange Alfa Romeo Montreal. All original except the exhaust system, coming from Ansa Marmitte. I remember the night he came home with quite irregular V8. He was parking in rear in the garage. The smoke was surrounding and the first things I saw were red taillights and chromed mufflers”, he said.
“I can remember feelings when I was staring at it. Muscular dynamic and aggressive. Looking at it now I cannot feel the same when I was a kid. So it’s been almost 10 years that I wanted to give a quick look at the future and feel again those moments. And finally here it is in a Vision GT dress. It’s not about style choices or functional engineering. I tried to create subjectively something able to bring me back as a child. Something on 4 wheels that’s making you say WOW!”
