Delta’s New Airbus A220 First Class Revealed

Delta Air Lines will begin flying its new Airbus A220 jets from January 2019, and has now revealed the first class – or in most familiar terms, business class – seats which it promises will deliver “a modern, elevated experience for domestic travelers.”

The nimble jet, formerly known as the Bombardier C Series, is described by the SkyTeam member as “a state-of-the-art narrowbody jet with all the amenities and luxury of a widebody aircraft.”

Delta’s A220 will lead off with 12 new-design seats in its first class cabin.

Travellers will be able to tap into broadband-grade 2KU WiFi to stay connected above the clouds.

Further back are 97 economy seats is a 3-2 configuration, all 18.6″wide, with 15 seats in Delta’s extra-legroom Comfort+ category.

The high-capacity overhead bins, extra-large windows and LED lighting all contribute to the ‘state-of-the-art interior’ of Delta’s 75 A220s which will begin flights from January 31 from Delta’s hub at New York’s LaGuardia airport to Boston and Dallas, with other A220 routes through to mid-2019 including Dallas and Houston to Detroit, Minneapolis and Salt Lake City.
