Plane Flies Close to skyscrapers, Office Workers Fear Another 9/11


An Australian Air Force plane flew past city skyscrapers just feet away causing panic among the people inside.

Terrified office workers noticed the Royal Australian Air Force plane flying dangerously close, causing fear of an attack similar to 9/11. The flyby was part of Brisbane’s Riverfire event at the city’s South Bank, which takes place each year to celebrate the end of Queensland’s three-week arts festival.

The act of the Boeing C-17 warplane has been slammed as “dangerous” and “stupid” and the video of shared on social media has drawn flak. One viewer who witnessed the flyby wrote: “That could have turned into another 9/11. Bad move on the pilots.” While another wrote: “I am thinking about 9/11. I can imagine that someone who was in the building that time and survived the attack and see this will have a bad time.”

However, others commented that the professional pilots were unlikely to put themselves or the public in danger. The Royal Australian Air Force has been approached for comment, according to
