Tara Air Bounced on Landing and Veered off Runway at Jumla Airport in Nepal
A Tara Air aircraft was damaged after bouncing on landing and veered off the runway at Jumla Airport in Nepal on Saturday 9 June 2018 at around 2:50 pm LT.
The de Havilland DHC-6-300 Twin Otter, reg.9N-AEV flight from Nepalgunj with 16 passengers and 3 crew, touched down with oscillation and started bouncing as it veered off the runway. The aircraft came to stop past the end of the runway and entangled in the airport perimeter fence.
According to Captain JK Niraula, Co-Pilot Hikmat Rokaya, the accident took place after the front wheel of the aircraft punctured while landing, resulting it veered off the runway.
No injuries were reported, but aircraft nose section sustain substantial damage.
