AUDI R8 Spyder V10 Plus Delivers More Power and More Carbon-Fiber
defined by carbon fiber details and a micrommata green painted body, the AUDI ‘R8 spyder V10 plus’ is their fastest series-production convertible model to date. with a mid-engine V10, the supercar revs up to 8,700 rpm, delivers 610 hp (449 kW) and a maximum torque of 560 Nm, and races to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.3 seconds and to a top speed of 203.8 mph (328 km/h). it enhances a range of stability and dynamic technologies to pair its power with optimized control. from a seven-speed S tronic with lighting-fast action to a sporty dual-clutch transmission, drivers can adapt settings to maximize performance and comfort levels.

the ‘V10 plus’ follows the launch of the AUDI ‘R8 spyder V10’ in 2016, which designboom test drove later that year. similarly, the new model features a soft top constructed from fabric and a lightweight substructure of aluminum and magnesium. with a weight of just 44 kg (97 lb), this ensures the car retains a low weight and low center of gravity. two fins run to the rear in order to tighten the top. here, the rear window sinks into the bulkhead and can be retracted/extracted electrically.
with an angular and athletic stance, the front of the AUDI ‘R8 spyder V10 plus’ is defined by the distinctive wide and flat singleframe grille with its gloss honeycomb mesh, chrome-plated frame and four rings. spanning its entire flanks, a continuous shoulder emphasizes the model’s dynamic body. from front to back, carbon fiber-reinforced polymer components line the car, including sideblades, sill trim, the lid on the convertible top compartment, and the fixed rear spoilers. at the rear, the supercar is completed with a large, glossy black trapezoidal exhaust tailpipes.
for the interior, light and highly contoured ‘R8’ bucket seats come as standard. they are upholstered in fine nappa leather with special pigmenting that prevents it heating up from the sun’s rays. running around the entire cockpit, a large arc cantilevers the dashboard to make it appear to float weightlessly. additional details of the inside are made from carbon, as well as glossy stainless steel.
